How to Measure WPI
Wrap your yarn around a ruler or pencil, snug but not stretching. Count how many wraps fit in 1 inch. This gives an objective measurement regardless of what the label says — especially useful for mystery stash yarn.
Substitution Tips
Holding two strands of lace weight ≈ fingering weight. Fingering + lace mohair ≈ DK weight. Two strands of DK ≈ bulky. Always swatch — gauge is the final authority, not the label.
